Meet Dexter, an adorable 1-year-old male Biewer Yorkie who is looking for a warm, secure forever home in Gauteng! Dexter is a energetic, sweet, and spirited little boy who absolutely adores his humans. He is full of fun, loves playing with balls and chewy toys, and is always ready to bring joy and lively energy into your household.
When he isn't playing, Dexter is a world-class cuddle bug. He is used to living indoors and sleeping right on the bed at night, and he will happily curl up right against your neck while you relax and watch TV. Dexter is fantastic with children and makes a wonderful, affectionate companion. He has visual impairment in his left eye (one eye might be blind), but that doesn't slow him down one bit—he is completely fit, healthy, and happy!
Dexter is seeking a new home due to dynamic tensions with a specific male dog in his current home. He is generally good with other dogs, but because he can be vocal or cheeky around certain canine personalities, he would thrive best in a home where he can be spoiled as an only dog or placed with a calm, compatible companion. Additionally, Dexter is a bit of an escape artist, so a home with super secure walls and gates is an absolute must to keep this curious boy safe! He is very protective of his property and barks at people outside. He has bitten someone on the ankle on one occasion, so there is a risk of this happening again if he gets out.

Age: 1 year old (1 year 1 month)
Temperament: Very playful, affectionate, cuddly, energetic, and vocal when excited. Loves bedtime snuggles and playing with balls and chewy toys.
Good with Dogs: Generally good, but can be selective or instigate tension with certain dogs. Best managed carefully or kept as an only dog.
Good with Cats: Unknown
Good with Children: Excellent
Housetraining: Yes, house-trained and used to sleeping indoors on the bed.
Health/Special Needs: Could be blind/semi-blind in left eye (smaller eye), but fit and healthy. Vaccinations up to date. Not sterilized yet (Standard SA Yorkie Rescue procedures apply).
Ideal Home: A loving home with highly secure perimeter fencing/gates (escape artist risk), where he is allowed indoors and gets plenty of cuddle time.
