📋 Important Information for Potential Adopters
- Mention the dog's name when you enquire or apply so the rescue knows exactly which dog has captured your heart.
- Adult-only homes preferred: Most of these dogs have not been exposed to children and do best in calm, adult-only environments.
- No cats: The majority are not cat-friendly, though some (like Dimitri) are excellent with cats.
- Training expectations: Most dogs are NOT leash trained and are semi-housetrained on artificial grass. Be prepared to invest time in training.
- Medical needs: Some dogs have special medical requirements (seizures, dental care, medication) that will require ongoing veterinary care and commitment.
- Housing requirements: Standalone houses are strongly preferred over complexes or apartments due to barking and anxiety issues.
- Secure gardens essential: Several dogs are escape artists or need safe outdoor space.
- Be realistic: Many of these Yorkies have behavioral, health, or temperament challenges. They need patient, experienced owners willing to work with them.
